What Information Should Never Be Submitted Through a Public Licensure Website Form?
A short, firm list — and the safer alternative.
Never submit these through a public form or standard email
No legitimate licensure support company needs any of the following up front.
- Social Security numbers
- Passwords of any kind
- State-board portal credentials
- DEA credentials or registration numbers
- Financial account or payment card information
- Full images of government identification
- Detailed disciplinary, malpractice, or health information
What to send instead
A public form should collect only enough to schedule a conversation: name, credentials, contact information, the states involved, and the type of support you need. Anything sensitive belongs in a verified secure, encrypted, access-controlled portal.
Watch for credential requests
Any request for your board-portal login is a red flag. Report suspicious or misdirected messages to our team immediately — see the Data Security page.
Where this leaves you
Every state medical board sets its own requirements, fees, forms, and timelines, and those can change without notice. Treat this article as general educational information, not legal advice or a checklist of universal requirements, and confirm everything with the applicable state medical board.
